Week 2 was supposed to be the week with very few meaningful games, and even those were supposed to be pretty convincing wins. Any sports fan could not have been more wrong about this Saturday.

It took some late game heroics from Alabama to beat Texas and their backup quarterback. The Crimson Tide looked sloppy with many unnecessary penalties and a pathetic offensive effort in the middle two quarters. Meanwhile is South Bend, Notre Dame had their home opener after their loss at Ohio State. They could not have looked worse. They got stomped on by Marshall, and it took a late touchdown for Notre Dame to even reach the final score, 21-26. Back in Texas, A&M proved why preseason rankings are meaningless. Their offense looked pitiful against Appalachian State, and they ended up losing 17-14. The final top team to fall were the Baylor Bears. The cougars of BYU handled them 26-20 in a double overtime game that lasted until 3 AM EST. The only thing that has been a constant throughout these first two week is the Georgia Bulldogs domination.

The biggest winner of week two was actually a loser. Texas surprised everyone and managed to keep up with Alabama, even though they were 22-point underdogs to the Crimson Tide. Once their star quarterback, Quinn Ewers, returns, Texas could be legitimate contenders to make the College Football Playoff. Even though they lost, Texas showed a ton of potential on a national stage.
