This week was really a week of constants. Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State all looked solid in blowout wins over lesser opponents. Clemson took a couple of overtimes to get the job done over a very good Wake Forest team. Florida State moved to 4-0 for the first time since 2013 with a dominant 44-14 win over Boston College. Lastly, Tennessee showed that they could be legitimate contenders with a five point win over the struggling Gators.

There were, however, a few big upsets that shook the playoff picture and the POV Poll a little bit. Kansas State shot down the Sooners shots at a playoff spot with a one touchdown win in Norman. Texas A&M took it to Arkansas and proved the Appalachian State game was a fluke. In Fayetteville, the Aggies scored a miracle touchdown to win, but their record nonetheless improved to 3-1. Finally, the Texas Longhorns took a drive to Lubbock where they were handled by Texas Tech. This prompted a few questions for viewers, especially considering how Texas played against Alabama earlier in the year. Is Alabama really all that?

Instead of a biggest winner this week, there is a biggest loser. With Oklahoma's fall to Kansas State, no legitimate contenders remain in the Big 12. Although they are not an annual member of the College Football Playoff, Baylor, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State have always shown some sort of potential for greatness. Baylor lost to BYU which killed their chances, as a loss to any group of 5 team would. Oklahoma lost to Kansas State which almost halved their chances to make it to the CFP. The only remaining hope is Oklahoma State and the chips must fall perfectly for the Cowboys to make the CFP.
